This is the most Beautiful piece of art I have ever seen of Michael.
“Since Michael’s death was so sudden he didn’t get a chance to say good-bye to the people who loved him. However, in this painting Michael does say good-bye to his family, friends and fans as he moves on to glory.”
Michael Jackson -Tribute. 2009 by Stephen B Whatley. Via the artist’s flickr.
A new portrait-tribute to the late Michael Jackson (1958-2009), that Expressionist artist Stephen B Whatley felt moved to paint, on the day of the legendary singer’s funeral at Forest Lawn Cemetry in California; on September 3, 2009.
Many people - including other showbusiness stars - have sat for a Whatley portrait and found that the artist uncovers a heartfelt essence as he paints from life.
So too, when working from photographs, Stephen B Whatley, reaches deep; and in his Michael Jackson tribute studied a montage of 16 photographs of the star as he felt his way around the canvas. The artist says “I paint from my heart and soul with many prayers..”
“… and what I realised as I painted whilst studying photographs from the early 1980s to present day was that despite the physical changes to his face, Michael remained beautiful - I felt the beauty and kindness of his soul coming through - and felt tearfully overwhelmed and as ever emotionally spent at the completion of creating..” ~ Stephen B Whatley.
The work of Stephen B Whatley is in private collections worldwide and in public collections including BBC Heritage and the Royal Collection of Queen Elizabeth II; and this original iconic portrait of Michael Jackson will soon be available to collectors.

I love the energy in this.
Painting of Charlie Chaplin, by Michael Jackson. Can you believe he created this painting when he was 9 years old? Amazing…
So much talent in so many ways.
